Gallup’s annual State of the Global Workplace report reveals low employee engagement: This challenge is compounded by the fact that only 50% of employees globally are highly engaged and passionate about their work. Gallup research concludes that engagement is higher when people feel their opinions matter and have the autonomy to develop and implement new ideas. How do leaders create this environment in their organizations? Over the past few years, my research has shown that the actions of senior leaders are the most significant drivers of change in digital transformation projects. Today’s question is, in our rapidly changing and uncertain world, what leadership behaviors inspire people and make them feel engaged at work? In my recent research, I asked a number of managers across countries about engagement.
